1. Information We Collect
WalkThroo collects information that you provide directly when using our platform. This includes:
Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password. Contractors additionally provide business name, contractor license number, insurance documentation, W-9 tax information, and service area details.
Project Information: When homeowners post projects, we collect project descriptions, budget ranges, timelines, property locations, and any uploaded images or documents.
Communications: We may collect messages and communications exchanged through the platform between homeowners and contractors.
Payment Information: For contractors, we collect billing details necessary to process lead fee payments. Payment card information is processed and stored by our third-party payment processor and is not stored on WalkThroo servers.
Camera, Microphone, and 3D Scan Data: If you choose to use our optional 3D room scanning feature on a mobile device, WalkThroo accesses your device camera and (on supported devices) microphone to capture a 3D model, floor plan, and measurements of the space you scan. This may include images and video of your interior, room dimensions, and any spatial annotations or voice notes you add. Scanning is always initiated by you, the camera and microphone are only active while you are actively scanning, and the resulting scan is uploaded to your project so that contractors can prepare accurate estimates. We do not use this data for facial recognition or advertising.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, features used, and timestamps.
Device Information: We may collect device identifiers, device type, and network information to improve our services and for security purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
Service Delivery: To operate, maintain, and improve the WalkThroo platform, including facilitating connections between homeowners and contractors, processing bids, and managing accounts.
Verification: To verify contractor credentials, including license validation, insurance confirmation, and background checks through our authorized third-party verification partners.
Communication: To send you service-related notifications, updates, security alerts, and support messages. We may also send marketing communications with your consent, which you can opt out of at any time.
Safety and Security: To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity on the platform.
Analytics: To understand how users interact with our Service, identify trends, and make improvements to the user experience.
Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and government requests.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Data Security
WalkThroo implements industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include:
Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols. Encryption of sensitive data at rest. Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing. Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis. Secure payment processing through PCI-DSS compliant partners.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

You may also request account and data deletion by emailing privacy@walkthroo.us. After deletion we remove your profile, projects, scans, and uploaded media. We may retain a limited subset of information where required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes, for no longer than required by law.
Portability: You may request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings.
